The 22 year
old professional is keen to do well and wins a series of races in rapid succession.
He competes in his first World Road Championship and stays with the best to
claim 6th spot. With 15 wins to his name as a young professional, in this
year, Hinault was now ready for the big races.
Bernard
Hinault's team mate, Cyrille Guimard, becomes the manager of the Gitane-Campagnolo
cycle team and offers Hinault sound advice for the future: "Fear nobody,
attack the star riders when they least expect it, and take another year to
learn your trade . . ."
